Lucky 7 (fun with books)

Here’s a fun little meme I was just tagged in by blogger and author E. L. Farris.  From Running from Hell with EL

Open your book and:
1. Go to page 77.
2. Go to line 7 on that page.
3. Copy the next 7 lines, sentences, or paragraphs as they are written.
4. Tag 7 authors who are also have Works in Progress.

Without further ado, the following excerpt from “Booyah! Spirit”, © October 2011 Sheila Burke  (I just included pg 77 which is the beginning of a new chapter, and the whole next page, 78. Enjoy!!)  *click to enlarge these for easy reading!

Okay, here’s a few tags from some other zen type authors that I think you’ll enjoy visiting.  This will take you to their blogs, and as they realize they’ve been tagged, they might want to play along as well!

This is such a good excerpt! I really like the analogy to ping-pong. And as I read this, I felt calmer–after just one page. I look forward to reading the entire book. ~El.

    @El Phoenix Farris,
Aw, thanks! I’m having a glitch with my gravitar sign in to comment on your page. This happened to me also yesterday. Gotta love the internet, lol. I’m still trying, I’ll get there eventually, lol.

How lovely! I remember seeing some of my facebook friends doing this, each with their own books – and then posting the line they finished with.

Very nice. This would be a great game for children to play, too.

    :D

Thank you for including me!! I’ll play the game! HOW TO BE A ZEN MAMA, page 77 line 7 lines are jokes for 9-12 year olds!! A note to explain. In getting closer to your children you need to havehumor and tell them some jokes at their level. So in my appendix are jokes for all ages. Here are ones on page 77 starting with line 7:

    9-11 Year Olds
    • What happened at the cannibal’s wedding party? Answer: They toasted the bride and groom.
    • Did you hear about the pirate movie? Answer: It was rated “agrrrr”.
    • Why did the one-handed man cross the road? Answer: To get to the second-hand shop!

From the book I am reading, titled Kadampa Teachings:

Reflect on the negative karmas you have collected and the sufferings of the lower realms, and remember that this is the only chance you have. If you cherish yourself, if you love yourself, this is what you have to do. If you want to take care of yourself, this is the practice you need to do. If you think about this, there is no time for laziness, no time to be distracted by the appearances of this life or works of this life.

    By Lama Zopa Rinpoche

I thought you’d find that interesting!
